I did better at managing my election night emotions this year than 2016. At least this time there was a limit to the surprises. I've been staying off social media and limiting my news check in to once every 12 hours. We spent election night watching Mary Poppins Returns (whose musical numbers are beat-for-beat a remake of the original - to the point that when it was time for the chimney sweep big dance number, I called it and was rewarded with the lamplighter big dance number) and binging on Halloween candy. And experimenting with CBD infused seltzer. I think it may have helped - I was anxious and nauseated but not having actual panic attacks.
But while I did successfully sleep some, it wasn't great sleep and neither was last night, and it's catching up with me today...
