Chuckro mostly covered the Wicked Faire experience in his post. We had a lovely time, met some nice people, saw some pretty good shows.

The only details I really have to add are bitching about the car. I do not particularly like Jettas. They're lightweight, underpowered, and have needlessly complicated dashboards. They also have a feature that I've never seen on another car where you can set it so an alert goes off whenever you exceed a specific speed. We had rented one on our honeymoon that dinged every time I went over...0mph. Thanks. This one, however, was set for the daredevil speed of 20mph. Which is even worse--the last time, it only went off every time you stopped; this one spent every time we were in traffic or on back roads dinging like mad. No, in neither case did we ever figure out how to disable it. Also, the clock was egregiously wrong but we couldn't figure out how to reset it. My guess is that someone screwed it up trying to turn off the 20mph alert.

This was all the more problematic during the drive from hell last night. I hadn't realized how bad the roads were going to be until we were already too far out to stop. It was bad, really bad. And the tires on that car were not good enough to handle snow well. So it took us almost three hours to cover the distance it took an hour to drive in the morning, since I was doing 35 on the Turnpike. Once I finally got the car safely parked and was inside, I went from incredibly alert to basically unconscious in about fifteen minutes--the adrenaline gave out and I passed out on the bed.
