Shameless plug
Nov. 20th, 2011 02:36 pmOne of the members of my writing group, Leonard Richardson, has a new novel, Constellation Games, coming out in serial format from Candlemark and Gleam. And you should all buy it. Seriously. It's awesome.
Ariel is a game designer without much of a life plan when suddenly the aliens show up. Other folks might be interested in revolutionary changes to science or technology or society, but Ariel doesn't care so much--what he wants is access to thousands of years and dozens of species' worth of new video games. But the next thing he knows, he's got alien houseguests and an astronaut girlfriend and government agents beating down his door. And hidden in those games are clues that Earth might be in more trouble than he thinks...
This book is genuinely hilarious, but especially for those of you who like to read game reviews/faqs. Because what could be better than a confused, sarcastic game designer trying to do playthroughs of games designed for aliens?
So. Go sign up for the serial. Right now. Here. It's ok, I'll wait. (Oh, and the bonus short stories? Also pretty awesome.) Now, don't you feel better?
