Genius?

I've invented the Dark n'Stormy cake. Kentucky butter cake, but instead of basting it in the butter/sugar-water mixture the recipe calls for, I used ginger syrup and dark rum. We'll see how it is tonight.

Soup

Lots of people out this week, very slow day.

I seem to have trouble putting enough liquid in my chicken soup with rice. My (lovely, garlic-sage-and-sherry-scented) soup today was really less soup and more porridge. It was fine when I made it, but the rice just keeps soaking up liquid.

No, little orphan story-idea, I don't have time to write you right now. I've got a novel in revisions and a short story whose ending still needs tweaking and I promised Chuckro I'd arrange "Re: Your Brains" for his a cappella group in time for the Follies. Bad timing! Bad idea!
