Summer in the city
Jul. 23rd, 2007 09:16 amNew York is fun in the summer.
Last week, we went swing dancing at Lincoln Center. A bit muggy, but not too hot, fortunately. The So-and-so's Wartime Radio Revue was a fun big band, although the slutified WAC uniforms were a bit much.
Went to a Coney Island Cyclones baseball game last night on a whim with a friend. (They're a minor league team.) It was fun, although kind of pathetic. We left in the seventh inning when the score was something like 7-1 - the Cyclones were kicking the crap out of the other team. Wandered up and down the boardwalk and got ice cream and funnel cake. Coney Island is...kind of sad. Like an incredibly run down, ghetto version of Wildwood. I'm not sure I'd want to go back, honestly. But it was a pleasant way to spend a gorgeous evening.
