My coworkers are awesome
Mar. 16th, 2007 03:09 pmOn one hand, I'm not sure my boss doesn't think I'm incompetent. On the other, my coworkers really like me.
One of the installation guys and I were both doodling during the ops meeting yesterday. Someone commented afterwards (in a positive way), and I said I wasn't nearly as good as the installation guy. (Which is true - he's a really good artist.) He said I just needed to practice more. Later he came by with a sketchbook. He'd gotten the sketchbook to use during lunch to sketch all the nifty stuff in the museum, but he spends about three-quarters of his time on the road and so hasn't ever opened it. So he gave it to me and told me to fill it up.
One of the sales guys (the one who kept prank calling me, whose stapler I held for ransom in an elaborate revenge plot) was up at the Boston Museum of Science a week or two ago. Some of you may remember that they did a Star Wars exhibit last year. He asked for one of their leftover books that he saw, and gave it to me when he got back. He'd remembered I'd said I liked Star Wars.
There are a few advantages to being the office flunky - people tend to be very grateful when you pull their fat out of the fire. Also, my coworkers are just awesome people.
