Gaming with nothing
Apr. 7th, 2006 09:22 amSo on Wednesday, after we've set up dinner and right before the first people arrive, we're informed our GM isn't feeling well and won't be coming to the game that evening.
Uh-oh.
The previous week had been gameless, as Chuckro and I were each too busy and tired to come up with a one-shot. So I felt kind of bad that we were going to have another night of not gaming.
And then Evan makes a comment about how it's a shame that we don't all have general Mage characters generated, because you can come up with a wacky Mage game without much planning.
...I do have characters pre-gen'ed. I made up a full set for a game I ran over a ski trip over a year ago. So I yanked them out, and proceeded to run a game that I came up with in approximately ten minutes. It involved a Marauder creating mythical holiday creatures in Central Park. The Easter Bunny, Cupid, a Jack-o-lantern, a giant turkey with a Pilgrim hat. Santa trying to free the reindeer from the zoo. A leprachaun kicking the shit out of George Washington. It was totally ridiculous, but hysterical. I am very proud of myself.
