Should be committed...
Feb. 21st, 2005 04:54 pm...before I commit to anything else.
So I'm now starting my very first foray into theater tech next week (with Ilana, actually). Dan stopped me at lunch today and asked me if I was interested in working a show. Apparently there's some new play going up in the Wilson Blackbox - they're hoping to move off-Broadway soon, but they're at least starting here. A bunch of professionals involved, and everything. They were looking for someone, not necessarily with any experience, and Dan remembered that I'd mentioned that I'd always wished I had had time to do crew. So - I now have a two week commitment.
Actually, it doesn't sound that bad. I've got three days (next Monday through Wednesday) of rehearsal, which will probably be hellish, time-wise. But then all I have to do is show up for performances that week and the next.
Of course, I don't actually know what the show is. New, and the lyricist (maybe? Will confirm later) is apparently in high school. Dan claims that everyone involved is very professional except the lyricist's mother, who apparently is insane. But she no real power (allegedly). I've been warned to not let her crazy emails scare me off, though.
I'm looking forward to it - I have always kind of wanted to do this, and it's nice to do something different near the end of my college career.
On a completely different topic - most of my clock works now! Yay!
