Our kitchen trashcan is a compactor installed as part of the cabinets - you press a pedal, and it pops out of the wall.

Last night, it popped out of the wall with a mouse clinging to the side, going on a little ride. Mouse and I startled at each other - I screamed and he ran. (In my defense, I was really, really not expecting the trash to look back at me.)

Great. Run away, little mousy, I'm getting more poison tonight.

Mousy was on the side, where it doesn't get compacted.
