An update

There's nothing for changing a rotten mood like holding a newborn baby. (One of my very fertile group of coworkers brought in his son, who was born a little over a week ago. He's very small, and has his father's gorgeous red-gold hair and the longest eyelashes and yet basically no eyebrows to speak of.) My hands smell like clean baby now.

No, but I do hear the CAR ALARM THAT'S BEEN GOING OFF FOR THREE HOURS. Isn't there a city noise ordinance? Can I get it towed or smash it with a sledgehammer or something?

It stopped around 1:30 in the morning, so either you were out reeeeally late or you were far enough away not to hear it. It was parked RIGHT in front of my building.
