Nightmares

I've been having vivid, violent nightmares for the past couple days. Three nights ago, I had my legs amputated at the thigh. Two nights ago, an acquaintance from high school tripped over a suitcase and broke her back, and I couldn't calm her down and the ambulance wouldn't come. Last night, I was playing laser tag, and oblvndrgn was accidentally given a real gun and shot me several times in the stomach.

I don't think I'm upset. I can't think of anything that is seriously disturbing me in the daytime. But something has my subconcious really, really freaked out.

What can it mean? Is it like a do-over, with bacon?

Bad dream! Wake up, eat bacon, do over.
Failed a test? Take it again, while eating bacon.

You know, I'm so pleased by this definition that I'll forget I asked you yours and accept this as the standard. I just hope the original wasn't like a comb-over with bacon...

Actually, it refers to a hangover, but with bacon. As in, the time we ate candied bacon and severely regretted it the next morning.

Are you dizzy, esp. when moving from a prone position to standing up?

Have you recently (within the last month or so) had a bout of severe head congestion?

Vivid, violent nightmares more than one night in a row w/o an emotional tie from the day's events, for me, tend to happen when I have an inner ear infection.

Nope. I've had ear-infection induced vertigo before (years ago), so I know what it feels like. I'm perfectly healthy - balance is fine, not even sniffles. I'm tired, but I suspect that has more to do with the fact that I've gotten really crappy sleep because my brain keeps inventing new horrors, rather than illness.
