Slight TMI - I've got some dandruff problems. I've tried a lot of possible solutions, from most of the dandruff shampoos on the market all the way through soaking my scalp with lemon juice. This weekend, I took my mom into Lush so she cuold see what it was. She suggested getting their dandruff remedy, a solid shampoo. It looks a little like a block of rabbit food and smells kind of like campfires. Once it's on my head, though, it smells rather like, well, bacon. Bacon shampoo. It's better than the horrible chemical-ly Neutragena stuff, though...

For the record, her head smells delicious.

I actually have bacon shampoo from Lush that has been so smelly it canceled out the perfumed body stuff that was in the bin with it. If it proves to work for you, hey, I'll give you more!

The point is the "stop the dandruff", not "smell like bacon". I actually find it rather disconcerting, and would prefer not to smell like bacon. But smelling like bacon is better than smelling like tar, which is what a lot of the other anti-dandruff shampoos smell like.

I used to really love the smell of Head and Shoulders, actually. That's probably changed, however.

My body's acclimated to Head and Shoulders. It doesn't work anymore.

I believe that's true of most shampoos--that you should switch up the ones you use because your body gets used to them or whatever. I wonder what's the science behind that?

At the risk of totally destroying what little masculine cred I have, I use the Pantene ProV dandruff shampoo + conditioner. I don't frequently have dandruff problems but I haven't had any at all since I started using that regularly. It might only be preventative and not removing current problems though. Your mileage may vary etc and so forth.

Shampoo + conditioner + my hair = not good things, I'm afraid. I have an awful lot of hair, and it's kinda got a mind of its own, and the combo stuff just doesn't cut it. But thanks for the suggestion.

Don't listen to her. Make her smell like delicious bacon!

Can do!

Consider it an early 2nd anniversary gift - we don't want to magic to go away, now do we! Did anyone else give you a gift that would serve to strengthen your bond in such a way? Hm? HMMM?!! Genius, I say!

But this isn't the magic that leads to sweet kisses and romantic dinners - this is the magic that leads to gentle head gnawings! I like my head - it's where I keep all my brains!

mmmmm. Brains.

Bacon shampoo is the greatest invention since the integrated circuit.

Not if I can perfect my INTEGRATED BACON CIRCUIT! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

This is the only way in which I've ever seen [livejournal.com profile] jethrien be pigheaded.

Okay, I'm done now.
