I've gotten used to the idea that I usually will not accomplish half of what I set out to do in a given day.

Since ceasing to be the Office Minion...I'm suddenly finding myself having accomplished my goals for the day, and still having time left.

Apparently when one does not spend the day being asked to do 80 "it will just take a second" chores, one can actually get all of one's work done.

Who'da thunk?

Well, I think what this means is that my idea of what is doable in a day is no longer appropriate to my position. I need to recalibrate.

It's not so much that I'm hyper-efficient or anything. More that in my old position, I had so many distractions in a given day that getting any independent projects done was nearly impossible. Now I can actually get a full day's worth of my own work done. And it's weird.

Weird and wonderful. I've reversed the process. At the old job I did projects and got them done. At the new job, it's always somebody else's errand. Bleh.
