My mother-in-law has a saying that once something has been done twice and everyone enjoyed it, it counts as a tradition. (Which is how the New Year's Two-Foods dinner got established and why I am now obligated to bring Toll House Pie to all future Thanksgivings.) By this definition, going to afternoon tea when we visit Boston is a tradition.

Lovely trip, as always. Very seafood-heavy, as Chuckro pointed out - he had seafood tea sandwiches for lunch, sushi for dinner, and then fried shrimp and flounder when we got home. (We've finally managed to get it through our heads that waiting until we're home to try to find food after coming home from Boston inevitably ends in us both cranky and snapping at each other for the rest of the night, and thus went to Red Lobster as soon as we were back in the city.) Meanwhile, the glass flowers at the Harward museum are really amazing, and we managed to at least chat with almost all the Bostonians while we were there. Hooray for successful trips!

Had you not seen the glass flowers before? I know I spent many hours there one day, examining each and every one. Now I have to remember who I was with! They are hard to believe - I'm not sure there's another artist that could duplicate even one.
