Identity theft for everyone!

Apparently, someone has stolen our corporate credit card number, because someone has bought a bunch of packages from Uncommon Goods and sent them to Arizona, plus lots of purchases from some geneology website. How charming. We've got a fraud investigation open and we'll be cancelling the card, but that's my dose of random for the day.

Yikes! Luckily you have the weight of an institution to bear down on the thief. Odds are good that no money will ultimately be lost. Good luck catching the culprit.

I always wonder how people think they can get away with this... They're sending stuff to an address. That shouldn't be hard to track. Someone once stole my credit card number and used it to order Dish TV. Maybe they hope you spend so much money you'd never notice a few extra charges?

A kid at my high school stole his roommate's credit card and used it at shops in town. He was immediately caught and expelled. For a while, his name became a synonym for something monumentally stupid.

Wouldn't using a stolen identity on a geneology site defeat the purpose?
