At the beginning of the year, I set a goal for myself. I wanted to get everything done so that I would be able to enjoy Houseparties for once without anything breathing down my neck.
It wasn't easy. But I made it. And it was so worth it.
Just a totally fantabulous weekend. I felt like I was walking on air by the end. I'd finished my independent work, I had a signed contract, my other projects were close enough to done that I didn't have to work on them. No stress, no worries. Fantastic food, good alcohol, great friends and conversations. My wonderful boy, of course. Campus had kickass bands both Friday night and this afternoon. I had pretty dresses. I danced until my feet hurt, and gorged on blackberries left over from brunch all day. The weather cleared up this afternoon to be warm and sunny - perfect for lawnparties. It was the best weekend in a very long time.
So very happy.
