We went to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles last night. It was actually pretty good. Patrick Stewart does make everything he touches better. The turtles actually fight like ninjas (instead of like bad animation or guys in rubber suits). Splinter is awesome. April doesn't suck.
And Raph actually uses sais as they were designed to be used instead of acting like they're overgrown daggers. Which made me happy.

A surprisingly good movie. (Not like Casablanca good or anything, just "fulfills its purpose well" good.)

It was weird - there were maybe ten other people in the theater, and they didn't laugh at anything. If you're with a bunch of other people laughing, you laugh a lot, and if you're by yourself, you laugh some, but I felt really self-concious when Chuck and I cracked up but no one else laughed.

They're saving their laughter for trailers for crappy comedies that aren't funny in the slightest, like Norbert. The ones where I say "Who would see that?" just before someone behind me laughs his head off and says, "Yo, we have to see that!" There's no accounting for taste.

I'm glad you enjoyed the movie and wish you could have seen it with a more appreciative audience (ie. us).
