And there go I

One of the other departments' heads just got a great job offer and is leaving the museum. His assistant started the same day I did, and we worked pretty closely together. She just got fired because her boss is leaving and they don't know how long it will take to replace him. I feel really bad for her - she left a good job she liked to come here. She's been here almost two months exactly. I really like her, and now I pity her.

And realize how very lucky I am that our positions were not switched.

Eeee. That sucks. Soooo glad my company doesn't do that or I'd be screwed.

That's rotten. I can't believe they couldn't find something for her to do while they hire someone new.

I know. I can't believe they did this to her.

Especially where you work, as it seems they shouldn't ever run out of chores. If worse came to worst, reduced pay, maybe part-timing until they had someone, but out-right fire her? Shocking.

Okay, I realize that "non-profit" institutions are run differently, but this is just plain stupidity!

I would seriously question the quality of management there...
