All I do is whine

I can't wait until independent work is over.

I'm out in the lab again, wondering why my advisor is 45 minutes late, and trying to figure out how to get pictures and data off his laptop when it doesn't like my blank cds and there's too much to email myself. And the headache and mild nausea that's been plaguing me all day isn't helping much. I have come to realize I no longer remember half the dynamics I used to know, as I struggle through making up equations of motion for a nasty little system.

So I'm stressed and apparently sick. Two weeks.

Is the laptop comment (or can it be connected) to the campus network? Can you log on as yourself and put everything on your h: drive? (Or, if not, a different shared drive you both can access?)

Can you format the CDs on his computer? Or try formatting one on a cluster computer and then trying it in his machine again?

What Chuck said, although you also shouldn't forget ftp. Most modern computers come with a ftp client ...

Actually, when he showed up, it turned out that he had one of those nice little USB memory stick things.

You can do it! And being sick isn't allowed!

Hello from bright sunny Detroit. The weather here is nice, but my god, the mosquitos. It's like I'm living in a swamp!

Hope all is well in Philadelphia

Melody

Why are you in Detroit?

Weather's gorgeous, and no mosquitos.

I'm not. It's an experiment to see what'd you'd say.

Honestly, I've been travelling enough myself lately I'd believe anyone who said they were somewhere random.
