Go, granny, go!

I got in early this morning for a morning meeting. As I was coming up the stairs, I found myself surrounded by powerwalking old ladies. WTF? Apparently we've got a program like the mall, where members can come to powerwalk around before we open. Someone sets out signs with arrows pointing them where to go, and makes them go up and down the stairs over and over. My moment of weirdness for the morning.

The finance meeting would have been infinitely better if there had been donuts.

At my old gym I was plagued by old ladies who hogged the treadmills in the morning, creeping along at a snail's pace. It was kind of a waste--they could just walk around the gym at the same speed.

General rule of life: ALL events are better with a pastry. My pastry of choice is usually of the cookie variety, but cake works equally well, especially a cheese danish. An almond biscotti. A chocolate horn. STOP ME...

Were they wearing sweatshirts that said "Silver Sneakers" by any chance? Because this is the new health craze sweeping the nation...or at least the eldery nation. My grandma in Florida goes to an aerobic and light weight training class every week and LOVES it. It's adorable.

No, it's just a museum-specific thing.

The mall near where I grew up used to open early for mallwalkers. It's somewhere indoors, away from the elements, with long halls you can powerwalk down before the crowds arrive.
