Outta here!

I just gave my two weeks' notice.

Yes, I have something lined up, but all the details aren't quite in place yet. When that's firm, I'll give a better post of what I'm going to be up to next. (And no, this isn't premature. Even if this were to fall apart, I was still intending to leave by the end of the year, with or without an offer.)

Woohoo! Drink a glass of champagne at lunch to celebrate not having to give a shit anymore! So glad you'll be out of that evil place that made you cry.

We went out for a very nice dinner last night.

Now, you need to plan a last day prank!

Congratulations!

Does giving a scathing review of certain practices in the end-of-year self-review count?

Congrats! Looking forward to hearing happy details soon.

Good for you! You don't need this crap any more! Have an awesome celebratory drink this holiday! You don't even have to do two full weeks! Good riddance to the stupid job!

I do have to do two full weeks - because I don't want to totally burn bridges, and because many of the people here are very nice, decent people who don't deserve to get their own workloads screwed up because I'm leaving. I've had a lot of problems here, but it's not because anyone's evil. I like most of them. I just don't want to work for them anymore. But I won't screw them over - that would be mean and unprofessional.

I just meant that, if you're leaving with two weeks now, one of those is this week and it's shorter. I am all for the not burning of bridges.

Congrats! You're free!

[identity profile] jethrien.livejournal.com 2006-11-21 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Most definitely.

Shiver me timbers and hide yer treasures. The Dread Pirate Jethrien is coming to town.

I've got my fingers crossed for you.

It seems like an awful lot of my friends are trying to find new jobs. Is it just because we're all 20-somethings? Or is our generation going to be job-hopping all our lives?

[identity profile] shnayder.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Yes :P

[identity profile] deltagrl.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
It's because we're the searching generation, refusing to take crap for an answer. We are looking for more in our lives than just a paycheck. And if we search hard enough, we just might find it.

It's because employers feel little loyalty to us, so we feel little to them, I suppose. The head honcho at my old job was fond of referring to the place as a "great starter job."

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! :applause!applause!:
