So rememeber several years back, when the media told us to wait in breathless anticipation for the unveiling of "It", which would change the way we thought about transportation forever?
Remember how it turned out to be the Segway?
Remember the last time you saw someone actually using one for something that had been utterly revolutionized by this brilliant new invention?
No? Yeah, me neither.
However, today I actually saw the first example of an organization obtaining Segways for their employees. (I've heard of it, but this is the first time I saw people in uniforms on Segways.)
It was for a bank. So that their employees could hand out brochures. That's right - five bank employees on Segways that had been decorated with the bank's colors, camping my subway station to hand out brochures.
Wow.
The way I thin about transportation has been changed forever.

The other is the guy leading walking tours (and I think there are also Segway tours) down here in DC. There's a lot of ground to cover between these monuments...and if everyone gets there a bit faster, it'll be easier to get to more of them on a shorter tour. Not bad. :)
