Yay!

My writing group liked my story! Fuzzies!

Less fuzzy - the metal bit on the strap of my briefcase broke. So I no longer have a working shoulder strap. Which is going to suck when I have to lug my laptop to Stamford tomorrow.

Can I meet up with you and loan you my backpack? It is specifically for the lugging of laptops, with a cozy pouch and all. Not at all business-y, but protective and good.

Your story was very fuzzy. I look forward to its being published!

I do have a kind of beat up backpack that would fit the laptop. We'll see what I can improvise.

Okey-doke, whatever works for you. So strange about the strap not breaking but the metal bit going. Any chance like a caribiner (however you spell that little metal lock-thing that climbers use) would hold you over?

[identity profile] jethrien.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what I was thinking. Shame though - it's a really classy black leather bag, and a caribiner's going to look a little tacky.

You could get a black one, and I bet it wouldn't call that much attention to it.

[identity profile] jethrien.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Now where can I get one around here...

[identity profile] trinityvixen.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Check for an EMS? A Modell's? I know there's a sporting type store around Grand Central, and there's bound to be some around midtown. Outside of the city, I can't help, alas.

There's a Modell's next to our mall. And, in fact, we have a mall.

[identity profile] trinityvixen.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
That's right! D'oh. That would be the best bet, methinks.

There's also an EMS in the Village. It's where I got my Keen shoes.

Lands End sells a lovely strap and it comes via mail quickly. I break my straps all the time and this is easier than going to the shoemaker to have the clip repaired.

We should also double-check the top of the coat closet--there may either be a professional-enough backpack you can use, or a bag with an extra strap you can steal until we find a replacement.

Ooh, can I read the story?

(Anonymous) 2006-08-29 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Umm, sure, if you tell me who I'm supposed to be sending it to.

(Anonymous) 2006-08-29 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Your Ma-nonymous.

[identity profile] ecmyers.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry I missed it! Send it to me? [livejournal.com profile] feiran also wants to see it.
