After Reunions

What do I have to say about Reunions that hasn't already been said? It rained like crazy, and rocked anyway. I missed Princeton, a lot - had a conversation or two with some other '05s about it. Princeton was the first place that I really felt like I belonged - and the last place I really felt like I knew what I was doing. It wouldn't have been good to stay there, but I miss it like crazy anyway. Big orange-and-black security blanket, I guess.

It was nice to go without having anything I was committed to do. I'd done Reunions as an undergrad, but I was always working and never really had the time or energy to enjoy them. It was nice to go without a time schedule or a dress code, and wander where my feet took me, and leave whenever I got bored or hot or cold or too wet. I missed Chuckro a lot - it sucked that he couldn't go - but it was kind of nice to be able, just once, to make my own schedule and not have to worry about what anyone else wanted to do.

I was sorry to leave, but glad to be home.

Ah... Princeton will always be with me --

In the form of the 11 CDs I bought at the Rec Ex and downloaded to my iPod.

Haven't listened to all (or most of them) yet. I got:

Homogenic - Bjork
Seven - Zap Mama
Sabsylma - Zap Mama
Us - Peter Gabriel
Nursery Cryme - Genesis
Foxtrot - Genesis
Ed Wood - Howard Shore
The Dead Zone - Various
Afterglow - Sarah McLachlan
Mercury Falling - Sting
Humming - Duncan Sheik

Most of these were on my amazon wish list, and on sale at the record exchange for less than half the price. I <3 the Rec Ex.

I got my copy of Mercury Falling at the Rec Ex, too.

Two dollars, baby! They had a whole shelf of 'em. I wouldn't pay more than that for it -- it's pretty much his worst album (or it was, until his latest). But I'm a completest. I needed the whole set.
