Random tidbits

- We survived the first week of preschool. ARR did very well--adapted beautifully, "pleasure to have in class". Every night, though, one of us has had to sit against his door for the better part of an hour before he'll stop trying to escape and finally go to sleep.

- School had an ice cream social. I'm rather grateful that mango sorbet was one of the options. ARR loved it. The kids got totally hopped up on sugar, and then we all had to take them home to bed...

- My office had a "fun day". I won the pie eating contest. This was a questionable life decision, but did net me a $50 Amazon gift card.

- Remember the translation campaign that metastasized? I'd wanted to do four languages. The regional heads insisted on 11. I reminded them all repeatedly that the sales reps who speak the languages would need to review all the materials after translation; I even made them commit to who would do which review. Now that I've spent weeks and thousands and thousands of dollars getting everything translated? They're all bitching about how they don't have time to review the materials. Which means I can't send them out.

Were the sales reps told how much it cost to do the translation and reminded that they had committed to it?
