Oh, he definitely is aware that pointing at letters and singing the ABC song go together, he's just not clear on how they're attached yet. And he knows the rhythm and notes of the song, and will sometimes come in with the last letter of each line. LMNOP is generally "Pa pa pa pa pa".
And yes, I've made most of the trucks out of playdough at this point. Roller is easy; excavator gives me some trouble.
