Title: Proof By Seduction
Author: Courtney Milan
Genre: Victorian Romance
Thingummies: 3.5
Synopsis: Nobleman tries to prove that a fortuneteller is a fraud. She is, of course, but that doesn't mean things don't get complicated.
Thoughts: An earlier Milan, this is perfectly pleasant but lacks some of the bite and deep historical research that characterizes her later work. Fun and engaging, but not particularly memorable. I did appreciate the ending, where she could have chosen a really cheap ending and didn't.

But it's sometimes good to read the early work of a writer you admire, just to remind yourself that they didn't emerge from the head of Zeus writing amazing prose.
