Somebody packed the snow into the steps of the gazebo in our park and it looks like they were sledding down it in a garbage can lid.
There was an article in the NY Times about how the record breaking snowstorm didn't really feel like much of a blizzard. It certainly didn't for us - we didn't have to shovel anything. We stayed inside in our pajamas and watched the snow come down. By Monday morning, everything was plowed and shoveled.

Date: 2006-02-14 03:15 pm (UTC)From:But yes, apartment dwelling has a big advantage when it comes to snow. No sidewalk to shovel, no car to dig out, and on a Sunday, no need to go anywhere. The fact that I'd brought back the mammoth pile of comic books on Saturday made it all the better.

All these creatures have vanished, and so I have become a shoveler. I did this a lifetime ago, as one of those kids. Then, of course, it was fun. Now...
We did get lucky b/c Greg and Brian used their snow blowers on Mrs. Tidererman's driveway so we got out of that and Gudrun is away so another one we don't have to do. Still, the snow lost its magic by the time a foot had fallen.
No PJs. No comics (well, none for me, at least.) And the University was a disaster at 7:30AM- a solid sheet of ice. Weeeeee.......
