Well, I think my days of jogging in Liberty State Park are over for awhile. We took a walk down to the little bridge over the inlet, mostly out of curiousity. It's surprisingly intact. The problem is that one end is maybe five feet from its attachment point on the far side. The other end is probably more like 20 or 30 feet from the nearside attachment point. Some of the pilings are still sticking out of the water, but I don't think all.

Yeah, that's going to have to be completely rebuilt. I'd be floored if it happened before late spring. I'm a little afraid it won't happen at all.

Also, on the far side is a small cul-de-sac from the road, surrounded by sidewalk. It currently contains a boat. Pretty sure someone's going to be unhappy with that, too. Maybe it's better than having floated out to sea, at least?

LOL I know the culdesac you speak of and while I totally get why there's a boat there, it's still hard to imagine.

It's hard to tell how bad the marina's messed up from that angle. There's always been boats ashore, and it's a little hard to figure out which ones are supposed to be there and which aren't. But that one is most definitely not where it's supposed to be. It's not of insignificant size, either.

Heard from someone in the last few days (who iirc was over there) that it was an utter clusterfuck, boats all jumbled up with the docks. Also, today I saw on a JC twitter I follow that the whole park is closed until further notice, w/ posted guard.

I kind of figured. I mean, some of the cars on Bright Street were floating, I can't imagine that things designed to float stayed put.
