Where did the cold come from?
Had a lovely birthday weekend.
My parents came up on Saturday and we went up to the Cloisters. Never been there before. It's kind of weird seeing the medieval art in a fake monastary after having seen medieval art in actual monastaries and churches in Europe six months ago. But it's an impressive little museum.
Had dinner at the hotel in the Hyatt on the Jersey City waterfront. Such an amazing view - the entire lower half of Manhattan sparkling outside the window. Glad the fog cleared up.
Last night was the Rocky Horror Birthday Show. Since a few friends had never seen Rocky Horror, we had a Rocky Horror party and take-out Chinese. Unfortunately, the rented DVD sucked and we lost a chunk of it to skipping. Sigh. But there was fun and feathers and fishnets anyway. And while my attempts at cake decorating proved that plastic bags with the tip cut off are not substitutes for pastry bag tips, the cake was tasty anyhow.
