So I kinda popped out a bit over this vacation. It's still not super obvious I'm pregnant when I'm clothed, but my clothing choices are abruptly starting to narrow. I lost a pair of pants last Friday; over the course of the vacation, I went from being able to wear one pair of shorts to not being able to keep the button buttoned if I'd eaten much of anything at all. (My stomach now expands out instead of down. It's weird. Also, my breath support is shot.)

I'm in edgehopper's wedding next weekend. I have a lovely little cocktail dress that I chose specifically from the available bridesmaid dresses because it had some room in the bust and poofed out a little below the waist. It fit just fine before leaving on vacation. It still fits--but suddenly I've filled out that area that had been decorative poof. It's perfectly lovely still--but OMG I actually look pregnant. Like, seriously. Something about the way this is cut emphasizes my belly in a way that just makes it incredibly obvious in a way no other outfit does. I'm not bothered by this in the slightest, just kind of...shocked. Wow. It's cool, but wow.

Also, really, really hoping that it still fits ok in a week. Although I don't know what else could have been done about that--there's no way to predict these things. I'll try it again Wednesday, and if there needs to be emergency dress surgery, we'll deal with it then. (I'm also really not sure what I'm going to wear to the other two weddings I'm going to this fall, but there's a bridge I'll cross when I get there.)

Jethrien "disguised" the announcement as a book review, though you're not terribly far behind regardless--we only started telling people two weeks ago, and have limited comments about it on social media as we tried to tell as many people as we could in person.

"Looking pregnant" happens at a different time for everyone, but it does seem to happen overnight, doesn't it?

It's not noticeable in normal clothes, but something about this dress. Ordinarily, I'd say "this dress makes me look pregnant" as an insult, but it's true. I look lovely, just, well, pregnant.
