And so it begins...

So instead of doing my reading for classics or applying for jobs, like I should, I am setting up a LiveJournal account. Because...well...I don't feel like doing my reading. And all my friends are doing it...and Nancy Reagan isn't around to tell me to just say no.

And I'm still cowering in fear of actually getting on with the whole finding something to do with my life thing.

Anyway, it's a new semester and it seems like a reasonable time to start posting.

I wonder if I'll look back at this years from now? Or whether I'll end up forgetting about it like most of my journal attempts?

It's all about the comments and the connectivity (the cool "friends" page feature.) And the fact that you know people are reading it. There's a reason I've dropped my blogger account...

Well, you'll only be able to look back at it if you back it up.

By the way, I'll be your friend! And as the button says, "School prepares you for real life which sucks too."

PS Icons.... They are a good thing.... (says the girl who really only ever uses one.)

I will proactively warn you about lj-cuts. They are your friend. Use them if you don't want annoyed comments from me (Chuck will confirm that I do do that).

Still getting things sorted out - haven't actually managed to get through all the directions. Mostly because the guilt over not doing the work I need to be doing caught up with me.

How would you recommend backing things up?

I'm not entirely sure what lj-cuts are

As for icons...haven't decided what I'm using. Will deal with tomorrow or something. Soon. I promise. Really.

I'll email you about LJ cuts, and that will make Jen happy.

Ivy! It's Ivy, you nimwit!

What's wrong, Ivy? He was just talking about this mutual friend we have, named Jen, who thinks lj-cuts are neat...

ever the optimist...

I disagree, Ivy03. School prepares you for real life, and both are awesome. Very different, but lots of fun.

(Though maybe you should ask me again later this morning after two of my wisdom teeth have been yanked. But that has nothing to do with school vs. real life.)

Another nation hear from

I suspect that will depend on, as Brian mentioned, if this becomes a major form of connectivity. The only reason I've been able to keep up with a bunch of the ex-Hazards is because of livejournal.

Unless you start posting your writing on it, in which case you might develop an audience.

In any case, hi sweetie!

Jethrien!

It seemed appropriate.
