Something annoying just occurred to me: After this blows over, probably with obscene concessions to the union, a year from now we're going to have a fare hike because the MTA is deep in the red again. When we're paying $3/ride for the subway, I wonder how many people will think to blame the union?
(Yes, MTA management takes some of that blame, too. They're morons and the system is poorly run and poorly financed. But this is anti-helping.)
