Ignoring Morrison's books, she deserves credit for creating her own the "old boys' network" for her friends. Thanks to her work at Random House, a lot of deserving black writers got published. She REALLY opened a lot of doors. And back in her day, it was all white and very "white shoe." I have always admired her generosity, a rare thing in the business of publishing. I agree that she's overrepresented on the list, but when she's good, she's very good.
