Two weeks ago, I took the week off weight training (subbed in extra runs) for a minor injury. Last week, the sticky-head-infection-of-DOOM kept me from exercising at all. So I just started up with weights again yesterday and running today. Oh, it sucks the first few days after a hiatus. Straightening my arms hurts. This morning's incredibly humidity made this the least pleasant run this year (oh god, that sucked so hard). And now my metabolism's totally confused. I went through my morning snack, my afternoon snack, my emergency desk dried fruit, and my emergency desk chocolate, all before 11 in an effort to make it to lunch.

Oh sandwich, I cannot wait to eat you. I don't know what I'm going to do at 2pm when I'm inevitably ravenous again. My desk is starting to look tasty. It's kinda the color of graham crackers. Pressed wood pulp totally might contain carbs, right?

MDF is totally an acceptable snack when desperate.

The sandwich has not slowed me down. I'm already hungry again.

My metabolism always overreacts to changes. It will settle down again in a couple days, but right now I guess I'd better go hunt up some more protein and carbs.

More likely, lots of fiber.

I'm worried that my metabolism is going to pull the same shit on me when I finally go back to the gym...
