Can I go home yet?

I spent the morning babysitting the phone repair guy. Then raced to the office to get there in time for a conference call. Which consisted mostly of me saying "I don't know. Ask (boss)." and listening to our clients yell at each other in Turkish. (I don't think they were actually yelling. I think they're just extremely excitable. And something about the Turkish language/cultural mores make them pitch their voices really high. Like, I keep thinking that we're talking to women when I know we're not. I wonder if they think I'm a guy.) I actually ended up holding the phone away from my ear a couple times because they were beginning to hurt my ears.

And now I'm trying to finish reports and hoping the dose of caffeine kicks in soon, 'cause all I want to do is go home and sleeeeeeeeeeep...

Ah, middle eastern languages. Sometimes I wonder if the regional conflict has something to do with the fact that all conversations sound like fights to the death in Arabic, Hebrew or Turkish.

Seriously. High-pitched fights to the death, at that.

And the way they speak, it sounds like it hurts - really choked off and high.

I know it's just cultural differences. Still, have trouble understanding what they're saying sometimes.
