Thoughts on the weather

- I'm sorry, snow. I shouldn't have complained about you. Please come back. I promise not to complain any more about the snow if we could only get rid of the inch-thick ice sheet that's covering everything right now.

- My abs actually hurt after the effort of picking my way to the subway without wiping out.

- There are other forms of weather that might be more dangerous or damaging, but is there anything more wretched than freezing rain?

- The trees are completely encased in ice, every twig. It's quite beautiful. Worrisome, though--after getting so weighed down by the snow, getting frozen down cannot possibly be good for the trees.

- I find that I now count the invention of the Bobcat as one of the greatest inventions of all time. I hadn't even known the city owned any before this year. They're everywhere, cleaning off the sidewalks in front of public property and some of the main pathways. Oh Bobcats, I love you so much.

There's a mountain pass near here where the trees always end up coated in ice, glittering like diamond trees. It's gorgeous. And also dangerous as all hell...
