Dream locations
I've realized that my subconcious is convinced that places it made up count as real. I don't have recurring dreams. I do, however, have dreams whose settings recur. Not necessarily as a continuation of the first dream. No, just a different dream set in the same place, the way you might have two different unconnected dreams that both take place in your bedroom. And of course you know where the bathroom is, not because of dream logic you-just-know, but because you've been there before. Only the last time I was there was also in a dream.
Last night I dreamt about going to a European city that was unspecified (Paris? Madrid? It felt Spanish only I've never been to Spain). I was with my parents, and we stayed at a hotel that we'd stayed at before. And it was, in fact, a hotel that does not exist in reality, but that I had an entirely different dream about a few weeks back. (Gorgeous hotel. It was on this tiny cobblestone street lined with tiny amazing shops, and was just an archway that opened onto a courtyard. The hotel was only one floor, and each room's door opened onto the courtyard. The entire courtyard was covered with a trellis that was nearly entirely covered in grapes, so only little bits of sunlight peeked through to the gray flagstones. It was quiet and cool. When you walked into your room, you realized that it was actually a little suite where the first room was also covered by the trellis. So you effectively had your own tiny private courtyard as well as access to the main one. Incredibly peaceful.)

I guess my subconscious likes post-apocalyptic scenarios. With the exception of one pool at the waterpark, I generally find the place relaxing.
