Thoughts on chili

I'm eating my leftover chili for lunch. Awhile ago, we switched to using ground turkey instead of ground beef - no one noticed, and it's healthier. This time, though, the supermarket didn't have any ground turkey, so we got beef instead. It's funny--after this long eating the ground turkey, the beef feels...greasy. I mean, it's still tasty chili (Chuckro makes a mean chili), but it seems I've come to prefer the less-fatty turkey.

I generally prefer ground turkey because it does not give me a beef headache. But I thought the chili was really good last night. My opinion may have been swayed, though, by how hungry I was.

It was really good. We'll do the beer thing again.

I think I'd forgotten about your beef headaches.

The leftover beef was also not drained as throroughly as it could have been, which was my bad.

My local Whole Foods had chicken sausage on sale week after week. Going back to pork one week just makes me feel like there's fat everywhere. Everywhere! Tough to go back now.

I know a vegan who did a vegan chorizo thing. Probably soy. I feel like it might be like chili where much more of the flavor is in the spice than the protein, so it might be pretty good.
