Itchy itchy itchy itch

When I woke up and blearily put on my watch this morning, the skin under it really itched. I scratched at it a little, and then firmly told myself not to scratch. It's been driving me crazy all morning, but I was good. Starting to worry, though - the skin around the watch was red, and the itch wouldn't go away. Was I having an allergic reaction to my watch?

I finally took it off and looked at the skin. I have a bug bite the size of a dime under my watchband, perfectly hidden. Holy mackeral, no wonder the skin's irritated. Something must have had a friggin' feast while I was sleeping, and since I was still half-asleep when I put on my watch, I didn't even notice.

I vaguely remember someone recommending rubbing alcohol for bug bites. Let's see if some alcohol-and-aloe hand sanitizer will make it itch less. Certainly can't make it worse.

I think rubbing alcohol, like Afterbite, only works within a few hours of getting the bite, as it degrades the venom. After that, I recommend Benadryl cream. I always carry some with me.

And I have also previously had a bug bite under my watchband. And I've had an allergic reaction to my watch. Both suck.

Actually, the hand sanitizer did help. Dunno if it was a placebo, but I'll take it.
