Urg

More nightmares. Two nights ago, I was kidnapped from my childhood church and then a terrorist blew the front off with a suitcase bomb. Last night, I was on the rescue team to save Sir Robert F. Scott from dying on the Antarctic expedition. We did manage to find him and bring him back to the base, but he died anyway. On Christmas. But first, he made us sing "Silver Bells" with him, which he joined in with a wavering voice and then died in the middle, leaving us to finish the song with voices choked with tears. It was like a bad Hallmark melodrama. Woke up near tears anyway.

Sick husband and nightmares do not make for restful nights. I feel kind of woozy. Attempting tea therapy. Earl Grey, don't fail me now.

You cannot save Sir Robert Scott. Like one of those time loop Star Trek episodes. No matter what you do, I'm pretty sure Scott was doomed.

Oh yeah, he was. But at least this way he got to die while singing Christmas carols?

I cannot even begin to explain the part I left off about shooting arrows at things and eating cookies until I was literally ill.

Apropos of cookies--the mine tour I just booked includes "Transfer, guiding, coffee and cookies."

Well, I'm glad there will be cookies! And guiding.

Your dreams are amazing :) Mine usually involve things like discovering a fatal flaw in a paper I put on the ArXiv, where I accidentally misspelled my name on top of it.

Yeah, well, I could do with a little less amazing and a little more solid sleep right now. :(

:(

Your mileage may vary, but when I feel dispirited and tired, I have mixed results with very strong coffee (my adviser has an espresso machine). I either become happy and jumpy, or I become very jumpy and irritable with a headache.

Tea is less... edgy. I get jittery if I drink coffee, but I can drink lots of tea no problem.

Tea did not help.

I went home and went back to bed for three hours. Still a little woozy, though.
