Line them up and throw them overboard!

Went to the Abney Park concert by myself. So glad I did. Came back bouncing. The music is awesome and the band is awesome and the fans are awesome and their costumes are awesome (band and fans) and people liked my hat and the whole band signed my cd and and and and...

Sorry, I'll stop.

Lesson of the day - anime was right, enough belts can fix anything. Apparently, applying enough belts to your head can even make white-guy dreadlocks sexy. (That, and the ability to play the guitar, fiddle, and mandolin.) Bizarre, but in a really fantastic way.

Glad you had a good time! I came home from work mid-afternoon when it cloed early. Good times.

Oh, I'm jealous! Next time, I'm totally going!

Dunno when Abney Park will be back (it was their first time in New York), but I'll be keeping an eye out for subsequent Swing Goth events. They're fun and friendly.

I'm glad you went and had fun! It looked like a really good time and I wanted to go, but the thought of trying to put together something to wear stressed me out so much that I decided against responding...so I went and watched Princeton's hockey team lose miserably. But at least there was free pizza.

...yeah, your night sounds better.

Should this come up again, be aware that the steampunk community is really friendly and not particularly judgemental as to whether what you're wearing is "steampunk" enough. There was a wide variety of clothing, from full gown with elaborate jewelry and expensive hat to a tee shirt with a pirate logo on it.
