For lo, I have bangs

Got a haircut with bangs for the first time since a disastrous hair cut in elementary school. (God, I hated those bangs. Traumatizing.) I'm entertained, thus far. The combo with my glasses is perhaps a bit more 70s than intended, but it's cute. I took a picture to send to my parents (we were talking on the phone last night and I wanted them to see the new look). My mother's reaction was pretty much "Holy crap, you look just like me!" Now, people have always told us that we look alike, and neither of us has ever been able to see it ourselves. Now we can. (A different photo looked startlingly like my cousin, who I've also never seen any family resemblance to before.)

Also, I've come to the conclusion that I do not like the MySpace look - taking a picture of yourself by holding a camera at armslength is neither easy nor flattering.

See, those are the only pictures of me that ARE flattering.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but all of them came out looking weird.

Most digital cameras have a multi-second delay mode. It still doesn't look *great*, but at least you can set the camera down on a level countertop, and get a regular picture.

Most Jethriens have a husband with hands capable of operating a digital camera, too.

Since the other Jethrien that exists is fictional and was in a world without digital cameras, this would seem to be demonstrably false :)

beat me to it :)

Actually, it's canon (as of the current campaign) that the other Jethrien married [Tobias Rosemark] and had children; and that magical gems that can record images and "download" them into other artifacts do exist in that world.

Actually, given recent developments in the mega-crossover - her descendant is traveling with a paladin who actually possesses a rock that can take pictures. And apparently she disappeared under mysterious circumstances, tied in to a group of planes-hopping mages who have managed time travel of several hundred years before. Also, she has a husband. So it's theoretically possible that she could show up in the current campaign, husband in tow, and borrow the camera-stone of the paladin.

I stand correct...and very, very confused.

So are we.

(The current campaign is set in the world of a different campaign, while characters from two other campaigns are playing major roles, plus a cameo from a character from a fourth campaign. It does all hang together, but it's taking us awhile to put all the pieces together.)

Well, yes, but the goal was to have a photo to send my mom while we were talking on the phone, and I wasn't sure that you were going to be home before we were done.

...two out of three Jethriens agree?

I think a lot of the problem is the picture being taken without anyone being able to check the angle. I got so many weird/unflattering angles...

I am curious..can you send the pic to me too? :)
