This morning wasn't my worst walk to work ever (that would be the day where it was 35 degrees, really windy and pouring), but it was decidedly not fun.
Agreed. Sucky walk, especially when my hat, which I just washed yesterday, blew out of my hand while crossing the street and rolled around in the rain and muck and is now disgusting. But it was in the fifties and not torrential, which made it livable.
Someone's white hat was in the gutter on the way in - absolutely covered in mud. I wonder if they didn't realize they lost it, or if they just decided it was a lost cause and left it.
I didn't even try to use my umbrella. It was not raining hard enough to make the effort worth it. I went outside, pressed the open button, and the wind kept the spring from opening the umbrella. At which point I was like, this is a sign, and put it away.
(Hence the trying to put on the hat. That didn't work out so well either.)
I expected as much. Mine was having trouble early on, so I closed it and just put my hood up. We'll get you a new $8 supermarket special the next shopping trip.

Poor hat.
Also, my umbrella's toast.
