One step closer!
Jun. 5th, 2021 08:04 pmI signed with a literary agent today! Younger agent, but with a well-respected firm, and he's got several sales under his belt. He loves my book, wants minimal revisions (most of what he's suggested are minor line edits, and a few little adjustments, and they all make sense). And coincidentally, he lives about a 15 minute drive from me, so hopefully as rates continue to fall, I'll get to actually meet him in person at some point.
This guarantees nothing, of course. But it's one step closer to traditional publishing, and it's also outside validation that a professional who doesn't know me thinks my work is sufficiently cool to spend time championing. Agents get a shit ton of manuscripts - they only pick the ones they actually think they can make money off of, and he doesn't make money unless I do. So it's a huge vote of confidence.
Yay!
