Finishing out the two weeks between jobs. I start the new gig on Monday.

Chuckro and I rented an Airbnb in Ocean Grove (the tiny little 90%-composed-of-Victorian-gingerbread town immediately south of Asbury Park). Basically, I chose it off of three criteria. A) A studio which in no way shared HVAC with any other rooms. B) Within an hour and a half drive, so we did not have to stop at rest stops. C) An abundance of takeout/delivery on Seamless. (At home, I try to go through local websites and avoid the big ones when possible. When I'm traveling and have no idea what mask compliance is like elsewhere, I'm just going to find somewhere that contactless delivery is guaranteed, thanks.) A nice bonus was that it had stuff to sort of look at - we could go on social distanced masked walks around the neighborhood, and go look at the ocean. Really, there was no goal in going to do anything other than look at walls that didn't belong to us.

Total success! Highly recommended! The walls, they didn't belong to us! There were no chores to do! When we went on walks, we looked at things other than the same 10 block radius we've been staring at for over a year! We did basically nothing. We read. We went on like four walks in one day. I tried to do some writing and mostly failed, and sat out in the sunshine for a bit. It was fantastic.

Other stuff:
- I borrowed a carpet steamer from my mother-in-law. OMG guys those carpets were so filthy. 8 tanks of opaque black water. I even did the stairs. Also, my hands hurt for two days.

- ARR had a few days with my in-laws (who are fully vaccinated) while we were in Ocean Grove. (I thought about getting a house for the three of us during his spring break. But given the criteria, there was nothing we could do there that we couldn't do from home with a car anyway. And he's inclined towards easy homesickness these days.)

- CHUCKRO GOT US APPOINTMENTS. Moderna dose 1 is doing its thing right this moment. I had a very sore arm and was a little out of it the next morning, but ok by lunch time.

- We watched Attack of the Clones with ARR. I think it may actually be worse than Phantom Menace?

- We managed to meet up with my parents at a wildflower preserve yesterday. (My dad's had one shot, my mom none.) It was really nice to see them - we haven't seen them since last August. No hugs, and all masks outdoors, but it's still better than nothing.

- I took ARR to Turtleback Zoo this afternoon. He's only interested in about an hour's worth of animals, but it's more than he used to be. We spent more time in the abandoned spiderweb net next to the unused picnic pavilion, really. But a good time was had.
