Wavilyem had a lovely Hanukkah party at her house this morning. Latkes and a very nice kugel, among other things. ARR did very well overall--he got overwhelmed by all the people and so took one break to go to a nearby park and another to sit on the steps outside with his tablet. (With parental supervision, of course.) But there were no meltdowns or throwing up, so I'd consider that a success. And Wavilyem had a nice turnout, so it seemed like a success for her, too.
Now Chuckro is making our own latkes. He appears to be the Jew the preschool teachers could identify, so he's going in tomorrow to introduce the class to Hanukkah. He's bringing mini latkes and gelt; he'll "teach" dreidel as much as you can to small people who can't even read English yet and read the Runaway Latke book. (I'm a class parent rep and we've been pretty active, so we were an easy target for asking for volunteers.)
