I thought this was a desert
Nov. 17th, 2015 04:24 pmI'm in Tel Aviv. My coworkers tell me it's really not supposed to rain this much. It's a good thing that my hotel has very large umbrellas to loan.
The Israelis handle vegetables better than the average American chef, I'm finding. So far, way more vegetables involved in the food. Including breakfast, which featured an array of roasted vegetables. (Also, the saddest croissants in the world, which had been put in a steam tray until they turned to leather, but I blame that less on Israel in general and more just on my hotel, which I'm not thrilled about.)
The orange sickle moon over Jaffa last night was particularly stunning, but I don't think the pictures I tried to take came out. They really needed a real camera with a proper lens, not the camera phone.
Other than that, though, I've been stuck in a conference room. I do have one free day on Friday. Still debating what I want to do.
Very happy with the decision not to get a car. Israeli drivers are crazy. Apparently sidewalks are just kind of a suggestion. You can totally drive your motorcycle down one...
