Not particularly interesting for those of you who don't live in JC, but we've been trying out restaurants.

Port-OThe tapas place, not to be confused with Porta, the pizza place. Did you know they have an adorable hidden back garden? Their paella is enormous, easily a full meal for two people, but perhaps not worth the wait--it's not bad, but I've had better. They do very nice tapas, including a fried goat cheese in honey. Chuckro's favorite was shrimp wrapped in vermicelli and fried over spicy tomato jam; mine was a (seriously fabulous) chorizo flambeed tableside in brandy.

Just BeClaws Shellfish boil. Basically, you pick your shellfish (three or four different kinds of crab, crawfish, shrimp, clams, mussels, etc), pick a sauce, and then a little while later they come to your table with seriously a plastic bag of cooked, unshelled shellfish which you messily devour. Loud and messy--an absolutely fantastic place to bring a patient toddler who loves seafood. ARR ate an enormous pile of french fries and as much shrimp and snow crab as we could shell for him, and drank half my strawberry lemonade. Their signature sauce--butter, cajun spices, and lemon pepper--is delicious. Unpretentious and fun. Very intelligently placed their sinks outside the restrooms, so there isn't a line to wash your hands.
