Mar. 23rd, 2015 10:14 pmTo make up for yesterday, ARR woke up in the sweetest mood this morning. He'd woken up a few minutes before his alarm, and so turned on his music box. When I came in, he was lying in the great pile of stuffed animals that now populates his crib. He looked at me, a little confused, until I told him it was time to get up. Then he looked at his alarm clock and exclaimed with joy, "Light turn green! Wake up, everybody!" Each stuffed animal was individually woken up. He hugged Monkey good morning. Then he realized that this was terribly inefficient, and handed me Elmo so I could start hugging while he hugged so everyone got their morning hugs.
In other tales of yesterday, we went to the weekly book sale at the church a few blocks over. ARR fell in love with and demanded we buy a cd with a guitar on the cover. (It was 50 cents.) He clutched it all the way home, excitedly talking about it. Unfortunately, it became increasingly clear that he thought it was a DVD of people playing guitars. We tried repeatedly to explain that it didn't have any video. We did put it on as soon as we got home. It was, in fact, a CD of the blandest, most amazingly boring 80s style Latin music ever written. It would be great as the background music of a cafe that didn't care very much about music. Poor ARR was confused and disappointed. Fortunately, he's a toddler and so was relatively easily distracted.
